Manila, Philippines | 17th October 2025

A courtesy visit and coordination meeting was held between the Philippine Institute of Certified Quantity Surveyors (PICQS), the Pacific Association of Quantity Surveyors (PAQS), and the ASEAN Quantity Surveyors Association (AQSA) at the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Construction Industry Authority of the Philippines (CIAP) headquarters in Manila.

The session, hosted by DTI–CIAP, brought together senior representatives from various construction and professional regulatory bodies—including CIAP, PCAB, CMDF, CIAC, and CPES—to discuss the strengthening of professional collaboration, recognition, and mobility of Quantity Surveyors within the ASEAN and Asia-Pacific regions.

Regional Synergy and Professional Mobility

The meeting underscored a shared commitment among the three organizations—PICQS, PAQS, and AQSA—to:

• Foster mutual recognition of QS professional qualifications and competency frameworks across ASEAN member countries.
• Enhance collaboration in digital transformation, cost management practices, and sustainable construction procurement.
• Support cross-border training and capacity-building initiatives to elevate professional excellence within the built environment sector.

Shared Vision under PAQS and AQSA

Representatives expressed optimism that this engagement will serve as a catalyst for deeper institutional cooperation between national bodies and regional federations.

The initiative aligns with AQSA’s mission to promote the harmonization of Quantity Surveying standards within ASEAN, and with PAQS’s ongoing agenda to strengthen inter-country collaboration under its Education and Research Committees.

The dialogue concluded with mutual appreciation extended to DTI–CIAP for its continued support of the Quantity Surveying profession in the Philippines and the region.
